My Story

My name is Jackson Jeffrey Boyd. On July 1, 2008 I was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a rare occurence, but a fairly common form of childhood cancer. Only one child in about 100,000 babies are diagnosed with this disease in the U.S. each year.

Here we are! Still healthy!!
(knock on wood!)

We had another busy week. Tuesday was Joe's only day off, so we took the boys to Going Bonker in Lewisville (a.k.a The Maze Place), they love that place.
On Wednesday, I went to visit all of my wonderful long lost friends at my old work in Irving. It was so good to see all of you guys!! I love you all and am so glad you guys will put up with me and the kiddos bothering you while you are trying to work. :)

Wednesday night, we took the boys to Six Flags after Joe got home from work. Luckily, it was not busy at all, so we got to ride lots of rides in the short time that we were there.

Thursday morning I took the boys to Cook's for Jackson's oncologist appointment, everything is still good with him and his scans are scheduled for July 16th...it seems like we just did scans!
Thursday night, I dropped the kiddos off with my parents and when Joe got home from work, we headed out to see a movie. We saw "The Hangover" and it was hilarious!!! I highly recommend it!
Friday morning, we had a training session for a new medical device that Austin will be wearing. He is actually wearing it right now and it allows us to see his blood sugar number at any time without having to do a finger prick. It has many pros and cons, we will just have to see how it goes. I am not good with change, so it may take a while for me to adjust.

Today, we went to Preston's birthday party (our adorable nephew), he turned 2!!!  The 4 cousins had fun playing together, eating pizza and of course eating cupcakes. I am pretty sure Austin inhaled his cupcake in a record breaking 2 seconds.
Tomorrow, we have another birthday party and then dinner at the Reata for Fathers Day!!
Somewhere in all of this, we have had some people look at our house, but still no offers :(
I hope all of the fathers out there have  WONDERFUL Father's Day!!
Love you dad!!!!
Love you Joe, you are a wonderful daddy to our little boys!
