Jack’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. On December 17, 2009 Jack was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  He was 4 years old.  We've created this website to keep friends and family updated during his treatment. Thankfully we can say Jack has kicked cancer's booty! He was officially called cancer FREE in February 2013.

Thank you to all for your love, support and prayers.

Much love,

Eric, Erin, Jack and Lucy

First day of School 2014! Lucy (1st grade, age 7) & Jack (3rd grade, age 9)
Hello family & friends,

I am a firm believer that "no news is good news"! So, thankfully we haven't updated in a long time. Life has been full of excitement & a lot of changes over the past few months. As I mentioned in my last post as it was in the works ... We are now living in Iowa City, IA! It seems to have been a positive move for our family and for that I am most grateful. Jack & Lucy enjoyed the summer playing with their cousins and meeting new friends. They started 1st & 3rd grade in August at my Alma mater Regina Education Center. We are definitely "home" & life is good.

Jack is now seeing an oncologist at the University of Iowa Children's Hospital. He goes in every other month for a blood draw and check-up. We have been exposed to more viruses and had allergies since being in Iowa, but overall Jack is healthy & remains cancer FREE! He has also completed PT since his bilateral Achilles tendon lengthening in April.

Jack is now swimming with the Iowa City Eels (ICE) and loves it! Lucy is taking gymnastics and seems to have a natural ability. They are both fun to watch. We are blessed with two awesome kids that keep us laughing every day.

Since September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month we have decided to join the local LLS Chapter with friends & family to participate in Light the Night on 9/27 at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. It is a fundraiser. If you wish to support us by joining our Team or donating we would appreciate the support. Thank you so much for taking the time to check-in with our family! If you are in Iowa and we have not connected yet please get in touch. To our friends in Texas & Kansas ... We truly do miss you & are grateful for the friendships we established. We will visit, especially since we no longer have to "vacation" in Iowa!

Lots of love, hugs and smiles.
