As Christmas approaches I thought I would make one last entry in Jack's caringbridge journal. Mel and I continue to be so thankful for Jack's progress both physically and cognitively. He is now eating cheerios along with the wondeful prune and pea delights Mel serves up for him. His progress is nothing short of "the best case scenario" we have prayed for since those scary days of April/May. We are definitely aware that things could be different for our family and are thankful for all the blessings we have received in the gift of Jack. We know that not everyone is getting such hope-filled news about their health and we continue to pray for friends such as Kate, the Lucio family, Angela Blatz and the many others battling for a normal existence. What this whole experience has substantiated for me is that the world is full of incredible people ready to do incredible things for one another. There is so much strength out there that we are fortunate enough to be able to draw from, so much love, and so much genuine care and concern. So, I am reminded when my outlook gets a bit salty, just to take a look at all the wonderful things in my life that are present not by any of my effort, but by the grace of God who surrounded me with such a wonderful family and amazing friendships.
God Bless You,
In Christ,
Jason, Mel, Syd, Coop and Jack
