Greeting from a VERY cold-and getting colder-western NC!
Christmas came and went this yr for Zay w/ much happiness and feeling well-that is a definite change from last yr when he was feeling so very bad from low sodium...which we finally figured out last Jan. This time in '08 we were in the hospital and trying to figure out how to make him feel better. Last night we were at church in revival and I was SO thankful for a better, healthier year God has granted Izaiah. He is certainly good to us if we only look to him and depend on him!
So Zay got everything he wanted for Christmas (and some things he didn't ask for). he LOVES his new bed and all his stuff for it, he got lots of movies, some toys, a new bookbag w/ his name on it, and even a few clothes. He really enjoyed the holidays this year and was so excited about everything.
We did have a hospital trip on Dec 26-just an overnight stay and nothing major. Izaiah had the croup-and I knew that was what it was because he had had it before. He was having trouble breathing so I took him to the ER for some steroids. They did an xray and bloodwork and gave him a breathing treatment and a dose od Decadron. Xray was normal but bloodwork showed an infection so he was admitted for observation and a dose of rocephen. He was fine by the morning so we came home and he has been fine since. The dr said sometimes a severe sinus infection can lead to the croup so she wants to try a steroid nose spray to prevent these sinus infections he gets.
Otherwise, 2009 has been MUCH better than 2008 was. Hopefully that will continue and we will have an uneventful year! Izaiah turns 8 this year-I can't hardly believe it!
Happy New Year and God Bless!
Jen and Izaiah
