We are happy to report that Isabella has finished another cycle of Temadar. It has been a 42 day cycle that hasn't been too bad. Just long! We didn't need one blood transfusion this time. With a brain relapse, you have 5-42 day cycles of Temadar to complete. With this one behind us, we only have 3 more 42 day cycles ahead of us. They will be mixed in with remaining 3F8 and Accutane and will take us through the end of the year. Our next treatment plan is a 2 week cycle of Accutane that will start on Sunday. These are just the pills that she takes in the morning and at night that do a number on her skin. She also needs to be highly protected in the sun. We are taking a little bit of a chance and taking her down to the beach with some of her friends next week. However, Daddy has bought a big sun-shield tent that we are hoping to keep her under, as well at 85 SPF. (Didn't even know they made that!) Lots of hats, shade and sunscreen. But, we want her to feel as normal as she can. While we are at the beach next week we will get her HAMA retested to see if her number has dropped any lower so that they feel comfortable giving her the 3rd round of 3F8. We will find out the week of July 13th what the next course of action is based off that number. My Mom and I will be in New York that week with Isabella to complete her quarterly scans. She seems fine and only occassionally complains of a headache or stomach ache. But, when we notice the frequency - it's just as rare as when Grant may mention something too. So, feeling pretty good about going into the scans and finding out about the HAMA. This cycle of Accutane will be her third. She will have 3 more 2 week cycles ahead. I know it's confusing with all these cycles but I'm keeping notes so that I can cross off another cycle completed each time. Just inching our way closer to our end of treatment goal which looks like the end of 2009.
Wish us luck keeping her guarded at the beach this week! I'll try to update while we are there with a fun picture.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th!
