It's Ian writing again, and I'm going to go ahead and call this our FINAL Caring Bridge update. We can consider this a great thing, because that means my updates would continue being spread apart by more time due to my healing!
We are at the 3 week point of being discharged from the hospital, and I've had noticeable improvements nearly every day. First, my scapula healed in 3.5 weeks! The type of fracture that I had normally takes 6-8 weeks to heal, so I was happy with that news. All my open wounds have healed up, and my day-to-day functioning has greatly improved.
I continue to work hard on my brain exercises, as well as seeing all my Outpatient Therapy team. The fun news for me is that I finally was able to put my bike on a trainer and I've been getting on every day for some "morale boosting" therapy!
I still have a long ways to go, but I am here and I am ready for hard work. I can do hard work. Again, thank you to everyone for your support through all of this. I count every single person who sent me messages of support as part of my quick recovery.
If you want to continue to get updates from me, I'll be active on Twitter and my personal blog:
This ride is only just beginning.
