I came into the ER late Saturday night with a 104 degree fever and was sent home after a chest x-ray that ruled out pneumonia. I felt better the next day, talked to my parents, visited a sick girlfriend, and carried on! Well, early, early Monday morning I was sick! Headache, trouble speaking, and my right hand felt funny; so, I took a walk back to the ER. Many tests and a lumbar puncture later, my body decided it was going to start seizing. I was moved to ICU, put on a ventilator, and drugged with copious amounts of antibiotics to kill my hitch-hiker - meningococcal bacteria (meningitis). What a bugger! Keep checking back as I will keep you updated as I kick this guy out!
