Heidi has been an inspirational speaker at the MSU and Mapleton Relay for Life events for the last two years. She loves telling her story, in hopes that it helps others dealing with cancer and its treatment.

Today, June 5, 2008, an MRI confirmed her brain cancer has returned for a second time, and she will undergo her 3rd craniotomy.

She will be coming home.

The battle continues . . .

We hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. Heidi was able to come home from the hospital on Wednesday afternoon, so we were all together for the holiday.

It was a nice quiet Thanksgiving and weekend following. Heidi spent most of the time resting. The chemo treatment has taken her appetite away for a while, and left her with the usual sensitive stomach. That’s where the Zofran and Ativan are helpful.

The weekend was peaceful with no shopping on our schedule. We did do a little decorating, though. Of course there’s the cleaning first that makes the decorating a bigger project.

Since the weather was good, Neil took Ryan back to NDSU on Friday, with a bed and few things for his new apartment. He moved off campus recently, which equates to hauling more stuff up to school. It was nice to see Ryan again, even if it was only for a couple of days.

For the next few weeks, Heidi will be resting with Pumpkin, watching TV, and scrap booking. She will continue to have her blood counts checked twice a week, with transfusions scheduled when necessary.

Christmas will be here soon. We hope you enjoy the holiday season. We are especially grateful for your thoughts and prayers.
