My Story

My name is Heather Shanahan. I am 30 years old, married, and have one daughter. I have been diagnosed with recurrent Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and am preparing for a stem-cell transplant.

Thank you to everyone for their thoughts, prayers and support. It means more than you know.

This site has been created to keep you updated on my recovery. I will update it as often as possible.

Hi everyone. Just thought I would write and touch base with you. Things are going well for me. Had an appt. with The Bom and counts are good as well as everything else. He was pretty happy with how everything has turned out. He was slightly concerned about my weight, but said that we will revisit that again at my next appt.

Otherwise I am feeling well and everyday feeling better and better. It is funny how the Dr's will ask me on a scale from 1-10 (10 being great - normal) how do you feel? I just laugh and say that I have not felt 'normal' in almost 2 years - not quite sure what that is anymore. I feel good, but each day is better and better.

Otherwise things are going well. Just getting sick of the snow and shoveling....YUCK!!! Someplace warm would be really nice right now - especially since we are suppose to get 3-6 inches of snow tonight - YEAH!

Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone out there. I again thank you for your continued support. It is very much appreciated.
