Journal entry by Katie Otto —
Holy smokes! I haven’t updated this Caring Bridge in a long time! That’s a good thing though cause it means Hayden is doing well.
Yesterday marked 13 years since Hayden finished his chemotherapy and released from the hospital. And since then he has had zero reoccurrences. I pray every single day that his body remains cancer free forever.
His yearly check in May was good. A few numbers around his hormones were off and we will follow up with endocrinology this fall but overall there is nothing else of concern. Next May he will have another Echocardiogram as that is usually every other year as long as his heart looks good.
He started a new job this past winter working with Conservation Corp of Minnesota and Iowa and is really enjoying that. He is on the parks crew and primarily works at the State parks in the Rochester area. He has done controlled burning, cutting down trees, cleaning up invasive plants and so much more.
A few months ago he got his first little boat, thanks DJ, and him and Tony have been working on a motor for it and some lights for the trailer. He has had it out fishing a few times now and is excited for duck hunting with it this fall.
Speaking of this fall. We will have an exciting one as Delanie gets married in October and then Hayden will celebrate his 21st birthday in November. Of course he tried to convince Delanie to get married after he turned 21!
Not much else to update on at the moment but thanks for stopping by Caring Bridge and checking in on Hayden.
