I'm going to school!

Today was a big day for Harper! She and mommy went to visit Maryland School for the Blind. We have had all our prayer warriors doing their amazing praying and our prayers were answered. She will begin MSB in the spring! Tara said the school is fabulous! Tara said a little girl came over to Harper and talked to her and harper smiled and smiled! Mommy took her into the light and sounds sensory room and she loved it. Her sister Teagan was grouchy on the way home and was crying. Harper thought it was funny and smiled and giggled at her sisters crying. Now if that isn't a typical sister reaction! Harper has been battling an infection recently she's experienced low body temperature as in 93 degrees! You'll see in her picture she has her Hello Kitty hat on. Low body temperature is caused by her brain injury. It's called an autonomic response. Tara has to keep her warm all the time. Her temp has come up to 96.7. Mommy is weaning the valium she has been on for about a year. She's down to half dose and on her way to being off completely. Harper takes a lot of medication. Tara and billy feel in definitely keeps her foggy and hampers her improvement. Pop and I agree. We have been praying and I ask all of you to pray on her medication. Ask God to guide the doctors to begin weaning her so she can begin to be more aware of her world! Seizure meds are extremely sedating. Children who have seizure and need to take a lot of meds to control can be very cognitively impaired by meds. Tonight I am grateful for the new journey Harper will begin in a few months! God bless!
