My Story

At Hanna's six month checkup her blood count was off. So off we went to Levine Childrens Hospital. Not knowing what the days ahead had for us. Well Hanna has been diagnosed with Leukemia. We have had 9 bone marrow biopsy's, over 20 blood transfusions. We have had four rounds of chemo. She has underwent bone marrow transplant on Dec. 2 2008. www.hannasheroes.org

I know I have recieved several email wondering what is going on with Hanna. Well we had to go to see her doctor today. Her rash is not getting any better. As far as the neurologist we have put that on the back burner for now. Her blood count was off today and it appears she has some kidney issues. They made a pretty big fuss about the rash and I am waiting on insurance to approve a new medicine for her. Hopefully I will hear something tomoro. Hanna weighs 21lbs and 6oz the biggest she has been to date. She still is refusing to walk or attempt to walk. (hey having daddy carrying you is alot easier.) We have gotten the results back in on the bone marrow. It appears that she has a small amount of her old cells back. They have scheduled her for another biopsy in 6weeks. Her last three had shown only donor cells. This does raise some fear in me however they say they are not overly concerned right now. She has added HI to her words and she is loving music. You should see her dance. lol I appriciate all the friends that have been there for us without you this would be so much harder. You never realize what little things you do makes a huge diffrence in our lives. Hailey is doing well also and is really enjoying the summer. We went to the park for fathers day and enjoyed a picnic and playing. We wish everyone a safe 4th and Hanna and myself will enjoy it playing on the floor in our "safe room" waiting for next year when we can go out and watch the fireworks.

I have a story I would like to share. A friend sent it to me and it has meant alot I hope you can take something from it. A father was working on his new car when his son picked up a stone and scratched lines on the side of the car. In anger, the man took the childs hand and hit it many times, not realizing he was usuing a wrench. At the hospital the child lost several fingers due to extreme breaks. The boy looked up afterwords and asked his father "when will my fingers grow back" The father was speachless and went out of the hospital to his car. As he looked down he seen that his son had acutally scratched "LOVE YOU DAD" on the side of the car. The problem in todays world is that people are used, and things are loved. Please keep this thought in mind that "things are to be used but people are to be loved. Weather this story was true it made me stop and think how those we love and love us are usually the ones we hurt out of anger or fear. We need to step back and look what is being done for us by those who truely care for us. Love and Thanks
