Welcome to Hannah's CaringBridge site. Hannah was 7 years old when she was diagnosed with an anaplastic ependymoma (brain tumor), stage 3, on 2/12/08. Please read Hannah's full story for all the details (miracle after miracle, angel after angel).

Be sure to read the latest in the journal, view the photo gallery, and drop us a line in the guestbook.

Hopefully everyone had a happy Thanksgiving and no one ate too much (ha - my joke for the day!) We had a wonderful Thanksgiving - lunch at Greg's grandmother's in Decatur and supper at Gaga's in Harriman. Hannah had a great time, visiting and playing with her cousins at both locations. We finished the Christmas decorations on Friday after Thanksgiving (yes - I started decorating before Thanksgiving) and I listened to Christmas music the entire time I was cooking for the two Thanksgiving meals, much to the chagrin of my neighbor, Natalie. : )

We received a letter on Saturday that made our weekend. Hannah was chosen to be the Young Achiever winner from her classroom. Young Achievers is a recognition program sponsored by the Loudon County Education Foundation to encourage exemplary leadership. Needless to say, her daddy and I are VERY proud of her.

Now the countdown is on for Hannah's next scan. It makes me sick to even think about it, but for some inexplicable reason, I can't stop thinking about it. Only 12 more days ... feels sort of like our lives are on hold, just waiting for the results. Of course Hannah is nervous but she knows it has to be done. Greg and I are terrified, but we keep that to ourselves so we don't upset her. Hopefully all goes well that day. She has the scan early that morning, then we meet with Dr. Harris to review the results of the scan. Then we follow-up with Dr. Pais (can't remember if she has to have bloodwork this time or not). Lastly we head over to Thompson Cancer to have a "pizza, breadstick, and parmesan lunch" with all of Hannah's buddies! She is soooo excited to see all of them again.

You know I used to think that Stephen King created the most terrifying characters, but none of his characters can even compare with the cancer monster. It strikes fear in our hearts like nothing else. Luckily we have our faith in God to sustain us. Without our faith and the faith of all of you, I don't know what we would do. Please pray for big, fat veins, clear scans, and no more cancer cells. Then also pray that God sends us a cure for the cancer monster. Have a great week, enjoy the Christmas season, and remember this verse (it certainly helps to sustain me) ... 1 Thessalonians 5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

Love ... Tracey
