To think that 3 years ago this week our life was "normal".  I looked at pictures from Mother's Day 08 with Hannah Grace and Chandler sitting on Marci's lap.  Hannah Grace's smile was from ear to ear.  That same smile that could light up a room and still melts my heart.  I guess I can say life was normal because the word tumor had not entered our world yet.  It was May 16th 2008 that our lives changed forever.

It wasn't cancer that changed our world.  I will say it changed our focus, but it was Hannah Grace that made the changes in our world.  I cannot give cancer that much credit for the changes.  Hannah Grace gave our lives love, a deepening of our faith, a sense and presence of God in our lives like we had never had before.  Cancer may have taken our daughters life, but she gave us so much more.

The days are long sometimes, but we know that each day brings us closer to being in the eternal presence of our loving Savior.  I know I have not updated in well over a month, but still on some days we just don't know what to say.  We stay busy with Chandler now playing t-ball, me working, and Marci getting ready for the summer.  At the end of the day there is still an emptiness in our home.  Chandler is a true blessing and God knew what He was doing when He blessed our home with Chandler.

The foundation is also gaining ground and we reach out to families that are newly diagnosed to help anyway that we can.  Just in the last 2 months we have met 5 families who have children that have been diagnosed with cancer.  This is only from the Wiregrass area.  Imagine that 5 families who only a month ago were living "normal".  There lives have been turned upside down and anything we can do to try to help those families we will.

This coming Saturday May 14th the Hannah's Gifts of Hope foundation will be having a yard sale in the Waterford development in Ashford.  The yard sale will start at 7 am and all proceeds will go to help two families we have met to cover expenses incurred since diagnosis.  Please come out and support us with this fundraiser.  Also a thank you to all the people that have helped with or donated to the yard sale.  If you have any questions please e-mail me at

We are still thankful and humbled by the amount of people who followed Hannah Grace's story and were touched by our amazing daughter.  I was on the phone yesterday with Customer Service of my cable company and in the middle of my conversation with the CS agent she stopped and asked if she could ask me a question.  I said sure and she told me she had followed Hannah Grace's story and wanted to know how we were doing.  I was blown away.  Some people that I talk to you can tell shy away from the subject of bringing up Hannah Grace or how we are doing because they are afraid it may hurt too much.  In fact it is the opposite.  Please don't ever think that bringing up my daughter will hurt me.  I think about her every day and would talk your ear off about the amazing things she did on this earth if you give me a chance.  I have not forgot about her and I ask that you don't forget either...

Thanks so much for everyone who still takes time to read our updates (even though they are few and far between) we love you all.

In Him,

Jarrod, Marci, and Chandler
