Hal had a couple of rough nights on Saturday and Sunday. He is on a pain patch. It is a very low dose(the dose they use for toddlers). He was not on it to manage pain, but to help him not to have withdrawals from all the large doses of narcotics they had him on in the hospital. On Saturday we took the patch off so his body has to get use to not having any pain meds. One of the possible side effects is not being able to sleep. He did not sleep much at all on both Saturday and Sunday night. He slept a little better last night and will hopefully sleep even more tonight. He is also taking shots to thin his blood untill the blood thinner pills start to work well enough. He had to go off the pills before his surgery in Minneapolis and it takes a while for them to start to work well enough that he doesn't have to take the shots anymore. He gets the shots in the stomach twice a day.He really wants to get off them because it is a little painful and the shots are also very expensive. On a positive side he walked 20 laps in the gym today. We celebrated at the dairy queen tonight since 20 laps is a mile.He continues to work hard and looks forward to seeing everyone.Hal asked me to thank everybody for all they have done. He also wants the community of Rutland and surrounding areas to know how very much he appreciates all you have done.He has come to realize even more what wonderful people you all are. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.

God Bless!
