Greg’s Story

Site created on June 8, 2015

Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

Greg has poorly differentiated carcinoma with lymphatic invasion. It was in his duodenum, lymph nodes and pancreas and he needed a Whipple proceedure to remove the tumor. Unfortunately this is pretty radical and part of the stomach, the gall bladder, 15% of the pancreas and the duodenum all had to come out. Margins are clean but it's in the lymph nodes.  Chemo is next up on deck.  The first journal entry gives a good over-view, so take a look. Thank you for praying for our family!

Journal entry by Christine Jacobson

On Sunday, Greg wanted to go out to dinner to remember the 3 year anniversary of his mom's passing.  He rarely leaves the house, and was fully vaxxed. Yet, it appears he came back from dinner with Covid. Symptoms started on Wednesday, and he went to be tested in the ER Thursday. They gave him an IV, said his chest was clear, and got him signed up to get antibodies today. That all went well.  His fever has been around 101, achy all over, nausea, general malaise, etc. Very achy. O2 was 90 yesterday, but as high as 97 today, so we will continue to monitor.

So far so good with the rest of us. Hopefully no one else comes down with it. Everyone has Pfizer, so we should be good, we hope!

We've heard good things about the antibodies, so hopefully they will do their work.

Greg's Lyme is really flaring, probably because of the Covid. Lots of joint pain. Please pray for quick relief!

Also, it appears I left y'all hanging from June. Sorry about that.

MRI was normal. Heart scans were normal. Everything was normal. So, that's all good.  We still don't know what happened, but everything looks ok, so that is all good.

Greg had his regular CT scan a few weeks ago. also normal.  Normal is good.

Thanks for praying for our family.
