    Chapper,

That is such a great story. It made me laugh and cry. That's exactly what bomar would say. That's what made him such a special person, it didn't matter what would happen, he gave it to you straight. we miss you so much Bomar.

I saw a flier downtown about a celebration for Gregg on Feb 26, but I was shuttling kids around for street events and didn't get the details.  Could someone who knows post the details here?
    thanks.

Jill, Michelle & Zeb - thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.  I spoke to Edna yesterday as well as Debbie Foss who both stepped me through the past emotional month you were all dealing with.  I'm so sorry and wish you all better days ahead.  While we won't be able to attend Gregg's service on the 26th, please know we are with you in Spirit and plan to donate to the fund you set up.

Hugs from the Whitney clan of Park City!

Hello Friends and Famiy of Gregg, aka Bomar,

I want to thank each and every one of you for sending my brother, Gregg, your prayers, thoughts and love. Also, your support and strength to Michelle, Zeb, Mike & I, Terri Hoopes, Dan Stubbs;  my mother, Nancy Beide, and father, Ken Tipton during Gregg's long journey while at the Medical Center of the Rockies. Your words helped to support us, and we often read Gregg your Guestbook entries.

Your kind words & stories of Gregg, appreciation of his character, strength, humor and love of Life means the world to his family. Thank You.

As Gregg's family moves thru the grief, we find strength and happiness, knowing Gregg lived his life fully, and enjoyed the mountains, rivers, and love of nature. He taught me much over our years rambling about the West. Our love of  paddling & rowing rivers, and skiing mountain glades will remain deep in my heart. A life-time of memories, ending too soon.

I look forward to meeting many of you Steamboaters at the Celebraton of Gregg's Life in Feb.

    Walk in peace,

    Jill Tipton

    Michelle and Zeb,

It's very hard trying to find words to appropriately discribe how devastating this is.  We are all there for you!  Gregg is an icon in Steamboat Springs (and other great places) and I'll make sure he is never forgotten.  It has been one of the great privieges, in my life, to have called Bomar my friend!

    Redge -

    Your description of your childhood....

So, so many great times to remember BUT the most favorite ones were of the many trips to Apple Valley, where we roamed free and found "innocent" trouble to get into. There were go-carts and mini-bikes, Snip, Snap, Sarah and Star. There were BB guns and 22 rifles and lots of cans and bottles to shoot at!! I remember those warm desert breezes and the wind chimes tinkling from the patio; oh those were good, good times my friend, good good times!!

You totally captured it.  Made me think of sleeping on the beach and wandering in the woods when I was a kid.  Conjured up great memories of my own.

To the Tipton clan, the day after my posting at 2:30 AM "last night":

Not that Gregg would care but my dad, the English teacher and Principal would roll over if he had proofed the post I wrote last night. Oh my gosh! The sentiment was TRULY heart-felt but I suppose the combination of typing on an iPhone and collecting my thoughts at 2:30 in the morning, after driving 5.50 hours to Mammoth was NOT a good combination.

This morning I enjoyed the photo slide show and am so envious of the lifestyle that Gregg lived. A life that he obviously shared with a great wife, an awesome son, surrounded by other family members and great friends, in some of the most beautiful country in the world, doing what he loved to do!!! He was livin "the dream" !! Good on ya Gregg, you've given me cause for self perspective and and to look at my own life differently, Thank you!!

Mammoth is beautiful today with blue skies and sunshine... A storm is brewing though and we'll get some much needed snow tomorrow!

Love to all and the support that you are providing to Gregg's family and friends!

I never worked with Bomar as a patroler, but he was one of my favorite patrolers to get advice from!   I will always remember his advice and the good times we spent at summer parties at the Fetcher Ranch!  Fish the heaven's waters good buddy, for they are yours!

Thanks for the advice and good times, I can never forget!

To Michelle, Zeb, Jill and the Tipton clan: Shocked and saddened by the news of Gregg's passing would be a vast understatement. I am still in utter disbelief! My sister Terry, told me of the news the a few days ago but I had been sucked in to the "vacuum of life" and have not had a chance to re-direct my feelings of astonishment to thoughts of what a great guy Gregg was.

Gregg was one of my first friends, we were just little kids growing up together in La Canada. It seems so long ago but the thoughts of those times are now so vivid in my mind that it seems like just a short time ago. We played on that little culdesac street at your house or roamed our yard at the Henn house but where ever we were and what ever we were doin, there was trouble brewing (:-/)}...

Where does the time go? In those days the "vacuum" didn't exist and somehow you seem to have succeeded in missing out on it all together because you lived a life that may not have been stress free but you lived a life that easily erased those everyday stressors that so many of have to deal with on a daily /hourly basis..... Good goin my friend, good goin!!

Tonight, my son Matt and I arrived at Mammoth for a little 3 day ski trip and of course, this place conjurs up more great memories of us and our families, sharing a cabin and having a blast here! We thought we were pretty hot stuff on the mountain and needless to say, YOU WERE! Tomorrow when we
hit the slopes I will dedicate my day to you and remember a
    GREAT friend!!

May God's peace and the knowledge that we will see Gregg in Heaven, give all of you loved ones and all of us friends strength to "Fight On"!

Special love to Uncle Kenny, Nancy and Jill.
