Gloria’s Story

Site created on January 1, 2012

Gloria was admitted to the Oncology unit of Porter Adventist in Denver, CO on the morning of Dec. 30th. She came to the ER with a nagging cough and a noticeable lack of energy. She was diagnosed with Biphenotypic Acute  Leukemia. Her strength when she got the news was awe inspiring. Her immediate reaction was that she knew the good Lord has a plan for her and she's ready to fight! We're happy you've come here to check up on her and we hope this will help keep all of her loving family and friends updated on her health and well being. Check back as often as you'd like and be sure to leave your loving messages in her guest book! She'd love to hear from you all. Please keep the prayers coming!

Happy Summer Everyone!

It has been 16 months since my bone marrow stem-celltransplant, and chemo/radiation therapies. I am doing well, still in remission, and continuing to improve physically.I wonder sometimes if I will ever be where I was before leukemia. Then, I thinkabout all of the medication that I am taking and what an impact they have on myday to day condition. I am getting stronger and my stamina continues toimprove.  Immune suppressant drugs arekeeping me in a vulnerable state; My hope is that my doctor is able to wean meoff of them in the near future.

I am so grateful for the strides that have been made inleukemia research and for the quality of treatment that I received. Beingdiagnosed with a rare form of leukemia and not having a good prognosis, Iconsider myself very blessed to be here today.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is committedto funding research to help cure patients with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma andrelated malignancies and improve their quality of life.  When LLS was founded in 1949, a blood cancerdiagnosis was almost always fatal. Thanks in part to innovative research fundedby LLS, survival

“Team GG” will be participating in TheLeukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night® Walk in Septemberfor a second year.  Money raised for thiswalk, funds therapies and treatment for advances for blood cancer patients.Your contributions will be helping to save lives.   In fiscal year 2011, LLS invested more than$76 million in blood cancer research.

I am asking you to please consider making a donation toour team.  If it wasn't for the generousdonations of past donors that have helped fight blood cancer and improve thelives of blood cancer patients, I might not be here today. So many of you wereso generous last year and helped us reach our fund raising goal.

Please consider making a tax deductible donation to theLeukemia and Lymphoma Society. Your generosity may help lead to the cure we allpray for.

Thank you and God Bless,

~ GG (Team GG)
