Thanks for all those who called/mailed us to enquire about the progress in Gayatri’s treatment. While on maintenance chemotherapy Gayatri’s counts and hemoglobin dropped very low and hence treatment was stopped for 2 weeks. She was given supportive treatment in Erode itself …4 units of blood ,growth factor injections to bring up her white cell counts and antibiotics to control her infection. She went to Vellore for the monthly checkup yesterday and her counts done there are back to normal . She was started back on chemotherapy .We could not find a 10/10 matched donor in the search initiated through Australian bone marrow registry .Hence our efforts are on to find a donor through NMDP(National marrow donor programme),USA.
