My Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge site.

We would like to thank the Deptford Township Police Department, family and friends for their continuous support through this most difficult time. Gary's Story is the introduction to his CaringBridge site.

Be sure to read the latest in the journal, view the photo gallery, and drop us a line in the guestbook.

Gary went back to the eye doctor that did his eyelid surgery today for another follow up visit.  Everything is looking good and he is opening his eye pretty good.  The doctor does not want to see him again for 2 months.  I also dropped off Gary's progress sheets on his eye therapy computer program to the other eye specialist.  Before we left the office we saw him and he said he had a chance to look at them and he said Gary is doing good with the program and to keep working at it.  Gary also returned to Rowan on Tuesday night for a class for this summer session.  He will go on Tues. and Thurs. for the next five weeks. He is taking a psychology course.  Then he will follow that class for another five weeks with his Law and Justice seminar.  He is glad to be back in school and he is hoping to better in these to classes.  Gary and I also went to visit a young girl that was critically injured in an auto accident three years ago.  Gary was inspired by Jessica and what she has been through and what she still has to go through so that one day she will walk again.  Gary felt good after her visit he said it was good to visit someone that has gone through what you have and it made him feel good to give her some hope.  Having a brain injury and dealing with the complications that you have to deal with each day is not easy and after seeing first hand how it affected Gary my heart goes out to each and everyone that has suffered and TBI and is still learning to cope with it. Our prayers our with you Jessica, keep on fighting and you will accomplish your goals. Gary(Dad) and I are headed back to Florida on July 13th to July 30th.  Since Gary is through with Doctors for awhile we are going back for a little breather.  Also, because Gary becomes to dependent on us when we are home and he is so much more independent and manages better when we are not here.  He needs his space and we need ours.  In a way that is good but I still worry about him. We wish everyone a Great Summer and hope if finally is going to be sunny and warm around here, I know it is sunny and hot where I am headed!
