Hi, my name is Gabriella Skye Melendez Bergman (Whitted for NICU ID purposes) and I was born on Tuesday November 17th 2009 at Duke University Hospital at 12:21am. I weighed 1lb 15 oz and was 36cm long and I had just turned 26 weeks and a day when I entered this world! As you would probably expect, I came out fighting! My mom had to have an emergency c section after Dr. Nieves discovered the prolapsed cord and decided he needed to deliver me right away! I have been a very strong little girl from day 1 and look forward to showing you all my progress through my Caring Bridge page!
