This site will serve as a way to keep our family and friends updated on Ford’s journey in and out of cancer. Please feel free to visit often and leave messages.
In April 2008, during the spring of his jr. year of high school, Ford was diagnosed with Ewing/>’s sarcoma. After experiencing pain in his right hip we began the journey of CT scans and MRIs that allowed us to see a tumor the size of a softball on both sides of his right iliac wing.
We began the search for the doctor and team that would treat our son and were lead to our own Children’s Hospital. What a blessing to learn that one of the country’s leading doctors, in the world of Ewing/>’s sarcoma, was not far from our home.
After a trying and tiring 2 weeks of tests, waiting, searching, and praying we checked into the hospital on Saturday, April 12, 2008 to begin the effort to push this unwanted intruder out of our lives. The effort is being waged with an army of loving family and friends who have supplied us with overwhelming amounts of love, support and prayer. We have been showered with emails, text messages, phone calls, cards, gifts, and food – all beautiful expressions of love, compassion, and God’s grace during this difficult time.
While we know this road will be tough, we know our boy he is tougher. He has the heart of a lion and has never backed down from a challenge in his life. With love and prayer support of family and friends, knowledge and treatments from the some best in the world of medicine, and the strength of the Most High dwelling within – We will remove the unwelcome intruder of cancer. We are just now seeing a glimpse of what lies ahead of us, but we have a clear picture of Ford as healed, healthy, happy, strong, vibrant and smiling victoriously following our defeat Ewing/>’s sarcoma.
