Journal

Hey yo,

Just wanted to give you an update.  Week two of what is hopefully my last sessions of chemo.  Went in yesterday for my infusions.  Still wearing the pump today.

We're still dealing with the oral pill issue.  Insurance that won't cover it.  The pharmacy sent us to a place that gives financial aid, but they rejected us.  So the hunt continues.  The doctor's office faxed me a form yesterday, so they're pitching in trying to find a charity or organization that helps people like me.

The side effects are very doable.

That's about all the news that's fit to print on the health side.

In other news Finn completed his Math-Off this week.  Every year the school district does this thing called Math Field Day.  Two kids are selected from the upper grades, 4th, 5th, and 6th to represent the school against the other schools.

Finn has been looking forward to this since he was in first grade.  Long story short, he didn't get selected this year.  He was crushed.  Lots of tears and angst.  But being Cindy's son, he went to his teacher and asked if he could organize a Math-Off.

So every day this week Finn has been running Math classes.  Think of it like Survivor for 4th grade math.  You break into teams, (yes we even had to get colored buffs for everyone) and they compete for points.  Lots of running around, finding clues, popping balloons kinda stuff.

It was his last day today and it was a huge hit.  Cindy's releived cause it felt like a part time job, helping run the complicated challenges, coming up with the clues, printing, organizing, getting props.  But he was thrilled.

We're getting pumped up about our summer camps.  I'm probably not going to be able to stay the entire run of Florida simply because of my chemo schedule.  But we're trying to work that out, even if I just come home for a few days, get my treatment, then fly back.

Really jazzed about the new shows.  You should check 'em out.

That's about it from here.

Onward and upward.
