Today was a sad/joyful day.  Today was Fr. Greg Schaffer's funeral, a very sad day, but we are confident in the Mercy of Jesus.  It was a joyful day because we know Fr. Greg rests in Christ, our Savior.  It was especially joyful because who should be walking in with all the priests.  FR. JOHN PEARSON!!!!!   He was walking strongly, unassisted and had that infectious grin on his cherubic face!!  Praise GOD!  Fr. John also joined the other priests around the altar at the Consecration.  We continue to pray for Fr. Pearson's recovery.

Dear Father John:

I am sorry I have not written sooner.  I have been following your website and have been diligently praying for you every day.  I am Romelle's mother.  I am sorry you were not able to join us for New Years Day dinner, when my brother, Willard Schultz, was going to bring you to my home.  I will take a rain check on that.  My brother was so impressed with you' thank you for being his friend.  Perhaps you could say an extra prayer for him as his wife passed away Sunday.  I trust that you are continuing to get a little better each day.  I will continue to keep you in my daily prayers.

Sincerely,

Doloris Roufs

Hey, Father John,

I haven't read your site for a while..I was pretty under the weather myself for a while...but I'm back now.  Just to let you know that we never stopped praying for you - Bob and I every day and sometimes more than daily we lift you up to the Lord.

All of your pics looks so good and it looks like you are enjoying yourself at the Villa.  You must be behaving yourself, too, huh? Yeah, right, I can believe that if I want to, huh?  I bet those nuns next door have their hands full keeping you in line, don't they?  :)

OK, I'll quit picking on you!  You really are a sweet guy and a faithful servant to our Lord.  Bob and I learned so much from you.  We really do love you and thank God for the time we have been able to spend with you.  AHHH Shucks!  There I go again, getting mushy...but it's true.  We love you and pray for you that you get your rest and healing and whatever else it is that you need.

Things are working out good here in this part of the world, so you certainly do not have to concern yourself with the parishes here.  We are giving Mnsg Garvey and Fr. Joe as hard a time as we think we dare, too....lol.

God Bless you and keep up the good work.  What a gracious God we serve - how nice it is to have such a great place for you to live where there are already so many familiar faces around you.

We continue to pray for you at least daily.  Love, Bob and Judy Markgraf

Dear Father John,

Enjoyed our visit with you last week at  Courage Center, maybe we will make it down to Sleepy Eye too.  Hope you enjoyed the pecan pie.  We really enjoyed your humor about the "Golden " girls.  We had some ice and then about 4-5 inches of snow a couple nights ago.  Our boys came the next day to showel us out with their 4 wheeler.  Even thou our winter has been so mild so far, I am still ready for spring and the spring flowers and green grass.  Bet you are too.  We continue to keep you in our prayers and thank the Lord for your continuing recovery. God Bless!! Rod and Terry Liepold
