Seems like a year later and we are on the rollercoater ride again. The one that takes us on all kinds of twists and turns. While Faith is doing good for the most part, she still has an issue with her platelets being low and her kidney function. They tested for infection but as of last night which was about 36 hours later nothing had grown. They eased up on the antibiotics because they thought that might be causing her kidneys to not function as well. She also had an arterial line and a central line. They thought maybe the heprin that they use to flush the line might be a bit much, because heprin is known to break down platelets and also can cause kidney's function to decrease. The discontinued the heprin and ran some more tests to see if that is what it was. Her heart rate keeps dipping to about 68, Dr. Rodefield thought this might be because of the sedation, they are slowly weaning her off of the medication and slowly weaning her onto her regular medication. Which is Ativan, she takes that to take the edge off , so the combination may be making her heart rate go down, she just started the ativan back up on saturday afternoon. Little Lilly, the baby on ECMO is being weaned very slowly, our prayers are still with that family. Keep those prayers coming, we need our little Faith to come out of this a healthyer baby with more energy and strength. Janet
