After a rocky start on Friday night, we pulled out a great weekend. I had spoken with a behavioral consultant on Tuesday, and he mentioned creating a social story for Evie on "coming home and going to bed" and all the in-between stuff we do when she comes home from daycare. So, Wednesday night, I took pictures of everything we did: medicine, bathtime, pj's, eye ointment and nasonex, reading books, feeding the kitties, etc. Then, after she went to bed, I created a movie like the ones I created on our photobucket link for Relay and for my Uncle's birthday. I put captions for everything (in order to encourage literacy :) ) and added one of her favorite Laurie Berkner Lullabyes called "Goodnight".

Evie loves watching the movie. Friday night, though, we forgot to do it because she had a dance at school to attend. So, even through she initially went to bed easily with sheer exhaustion, she did not stay asleep and we had a rotten two hours of screaming at one point.

However, we rebounded, had a great playdate with her friend Jack at the park on Saturday...remembered her movie last night, and then had church today, grocery shopping, played games, started watching her movie around 3 pm to "remind us of what we do in the evening"...played at a park this afternoon...watched the movie before taking our bath, watched it before going up to bed...talked about what we had already done and what we had left to do...etc. I think it helped her and she has been using "complete" sentences well this weekend too.

So, hopefully things are looking up adjustment wise. As far as the kitties go, I purchased a spray at the vet clinic to spray in the corners of the rooms where they "spray" and do it two times a day. After a week or so, it's said that they will no longer try to mark that territory.

Keep us in prayers, as always, God's blessings and mercies keep us going--even when we may feel we're in the valley.

Love, Tammie
