My Story

Eula Stierholz has been hospitalized in intensive care with pneumonia and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. The ARDS diagnosis turned out to be much more serious than pneumonia -- life-threatening. Mom was placed on a ventilator and continues to get breathing support.

Mom's six children have been keeping her company in the hospital and making sure that her voice is heard.

Journal

Hello everyone. I thought I had updated this journal a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't have one of my grandchildren around, so it didn't publish.

To bring you up to date, I've been home since the 6th of February -- making great progress, walking with a cane, driving, and going to outpatient physical therapy. My strength and endurance is not back to normal (my normal) but I'm making progress and hopefully will accomplish that goal. I'm quite pleased with the progress that has been made up to this point and feel that it will continue.

I want to thank everyone for their good wishes and their prayers. I know that it was very supportive for my family.

I do not remember anything from the middle of November until after Christmas, so alot of what transpired I'm only learning second-hand. I hope to go back to normal activities, such as Arcadia in the summer, trips in the fall, and will continue to work toward those goals.

Thanks again. Love, Eula
