We got the Boss back home from the hospital this evening. She's still in a lot of discomfort, but very happy to be back. I guess that means we have to straighten up and start behaving ourselves again. We have the weekend together before Eric has to go back to Bloomington on Sunday. Eric had to take his weekly chemo pills on Wednesday evening. Just in case it had slipped our minds, we saw first hand (again) what he has to go through every week. He was as excited as we all were to sit down to Thanksgiving dinner Thursday afternoon (Katie and Kelsey made a fantastic meal with turkey and all of the trinnimigs). Eric loaded his plate and took about 2 bites. He was so nauseated that he had to stop eating and leave the table. He was finally able to eat about 10 that night after taking a couple of doses of his nausea medicine. It made us all remember that he is still in the battle. He fights through this every single week; and all the while taking 16 difficult credit hours at IU. What an impressive young man. The Metz family is so thankful this Thanksgiving for God's grace and strength that He gives Eric every week; for bringing Lisa safely through surgery; and for the blessings He has given our family so abundantly.
