Eric Edmundson's Journal
Written Feb 27, 2009 11:08am
This is a quick update – a much longer and more detailed one is owed to you.
This is short notice unfortunately, we found out short notice as well. We wanted to let you know that if you are able to watch President Obama’s speech taking place at Camp Lejeune at 11:45am (I believe it will be broadcast on all networks since the President will be speaking about a troop withdraw) Eric and Dad are seated in the front row amongst a sea of uniforms.
Eric has been home about a week and a half from Walter Reed and we are grateful to the staff and physicians at Walter Reed. I will update more later on what decisions were made about follow up treatment to relieve Eric from his episodes.

Just wanted to send a quick update in regards to the card shower for Eric. He is being admitted on Monday, but we have heard that mail takes forever to be processed through Walter Reed's internal mail system.
In order to ensure Eric receives all your greetings of support, we are asking for cards or letters to be sent to his house. We will collect them and send them up on the first visit up.
Eric's mailing address is:
2215 Caracara Drive
New Bern, NC 28560
Eric had a pretty good last week and then fell into an episode the other night. He is slowly getting over it and is feeling a bit better this evening.
Gracie was thrilled to have snow fall this week. We got maybe an inch or two (which is a big deal for Eastern North Carolina) and it stayed on the ground long enough for little miss to make snow angels and throw snowballs! Ha!
Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers. We hope you have a peaceful and relaxing weekend!

Eric thanks you for all the kind well wishes and thoughts sent to him these past couple of days. He is blessed to have many ^angels^ in his life.
The communication with Walter Reed has gone well. Due to the upcoming holidays (possible four day weekend for military and federal employees) and the inauguration (where we are told Washington comes to a stand still) it was decided that the best time for Eric to head up to Walter Reed would be on the 26th of January.
He will be admitted on the 26th and the discharge date is thus far being left open until a reason and treatment for his episodes is figured out.
Once he is settled in and more info is known, as far as room number and best way to receive mail, I’ll pass it on.
Today was one of the best days he has had in weeks, we hope tomorrow is the same.
Your continued thoughts and prayers are appreciated.
