Emma Geiger's Journal
Written May 6, 2012 1:02amHey There Friends, Followers, Supporters, and People I've Never Met (yet)
I know that it's been awhile since we last talked, or more of me updating and you all responding like the awesome people you are. But it's all because i'm getting my life in order and haven't really been sick. I'm healthy enough to hold down a great job at Taco Bell, and I'm even getting promoted to a management position soon! So it's all pretty exciting.
I suppose you could say that life has been pretty awesome since I graduated and had my last surgery. I haven't felt the pacemaker move one bit. But it must be working. Because with all the tacos and burritos I seem to consume at work, I am never ever bloated anymore.
Speaking of graduating though, the other day I finally picked up my diploma from my high school and now I feel all official and adult-like. I'm even considering just carrying it around to show people how cool I am and that I'm no longer in high school. But that might be a little too much. I do, however, get to walk with the alternative high school class on the 31st. Then I'll feel even more official.
This happened just in time for my graduation party!!
That's the main reason why I'm writing this journal update. What better way to celebrate my graduation that with all the people who helped me get through what had to be the hardest 4 years of my life? Seriously though. Without the support of everybody I wouldn't have been able to make it out of there when I did.
I really hope that all of you can make it. Attached to this entry is a picture of my actual invite -- and since I don't have everyone's home address I couldn't send it out. But there is all the information there and the address of where it's being held.
So if you wanna come -- seriously open to anyone -- and see the new happy, healthy Emma in person, you should definitely save the date and come out!
Leave a comment in the guestbook if you think you can make it!
You're all wonderful. And I hope to see you soon!Love, Emma :)
One belly button
Written Jan 17, 2012 3:41pmHey everyone,
I know I haven't been updating very well. But I'd like to let everyone know that I had my surgery on January 6th. The pacer is now repaired and back in business! Along with that, I know have only one belly button instead of the two I was struggling with.
Do you know how amazing it feels to not have a crater in my stomach that causes embarrassment and unnecessary stares?! It feels incredible. I took my surgery tape off yesterday and began to cry out of happiness. It looks so wonderful compared to what I had. And it's only going to get better over time.
I'm so happy!
Thanks everyone for prayers and good energy :)
Written Dec 25, 2011 5:01amHey everyone! Guess who got possibly the greatest Christmas present in the history of presents?! That's right! Yours truly.
I graduated this Thursday from High School at my wonderful alternative school. It was such a load off my back that I wanted to run to the top of a mountain with a megaphone and tell everybody! ... However this being Minnesota, we didn't have any mountains for me to do that on.
So now onto the next phase of my life.
My surgery is January 6th at Abbott hospital in Minneapolis. Dr Johnson is doing my surgery. I'm still undecided where I'm going to put the pacemaker but I'm sure I'll figure it out by then. At least I hope I will. I'm leaning towards under the breast still but since I've been feeling a lot better (even with the pacer shut off) I feel like I may not need this forever (knock on wood) so if I did put it back in my stomach, maybe I wouldn't have to have it there for the rest of my life.
Because I've heard good and bad things about getting it in my chest. And the bad things really freak me out. Bah! It'll come to me though.
Anyways, until we talk again, I hope everyone has a very happy holiday season :)
