Hey folks, its been a while, sorry, and theres a lot to post so I'll jump right in (this is Pat in the morning so I may be a bit blahhhh in my writing) Emma was haveing some troubles with her beathing earlier this spring, especially at night, she'd wheeze and gag and not be able to sleep. She had a sleep study with an EEG in Boston the results of which were that she is still having about 6-10 seizures and hour and she does not enter REM sleep very much. Didn't tell us much about her breathing troubles, but she saw an Ear, Nose, & Throat doctor, who found a lot of red swollenness in the back of her throat, and also that some thing back in there doesn't work right (Heather knows more about that). It s not her epiglottis, which we already know doesnt open and close the way it should. Maybe it was her larnyx, not sure. Anyway, he didn't prescribe anything, but we'll follow up with him.
Emily also got her cool new chair! its a Kid Kart, and there are pictures of her in it. She is now in a more natural seating position, which she seems to like, and is much more alert in general when she is in her chair, though she doesn't like to be in it too long. She is well strapped in to give her lots of support. Its kind of big & heavy, and its hard to get in & out of the house, but its much better than strapping her feederseat into a stroller, which is what we had been doing.
Emily's first tooth poked through last weekend, very exciting! That answers some questions as to why she wasn't wanting to suck from her bottle for a few days.
Lets see, what else is going on... Emma is getting more nursing time, Wendy, who has been with us for Early Intervention for years, is now doing nursing for Emma, is great becuase she knows her so well.
Heather is on her terminal leave, she is out of the Air Force at the end of August.
Well I acnt think of much more and I dont like typing much, so I'll sign off and post new pictures, so be sure to check the photo page. Thanks & God bless!
