5 years ago, Emily Dawn Erica Lindsey came into this world as a planned c-section. Since then I can honestly say very little has gone by plan – she knew from day one how to fit into my life – chaos works best. Emily was 5 lbs, cute as they come and the biggest baby in the NICU that Christmas. Now, she is 37 lbs, and enjoying life to the fullest as possible. The adults in her life, know all to well the major milestone that this birthday represents. We know how hard she has fought over and over for life, where she came from, what she has been through and a very healthy and lengthy future. Unfortunately, this 5th birthday has not been as good to Emily as we had hoped. Emily has spent a few days before her birthday, on her birthday and even still a pretty sick girl. She has had the full torture of doctor visits, nurses poking and prodding, labs, antibiotic shots the works. The good of all of this is that while she threw up her toe nails, ran fever and other not so nice details, the majority was done in our home not in a hospital stay!
There are several other updates that I posted tonight, if you want some reading material. Enjoy this photo montage of the last 5 years. Paste and copy this link into your browser. Maybe someday Coop will show me how to work all of this stuff!
