My Story

Ella was diagnosed with Diffused Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) a rare brain tumor on 12/7/07. Ella went to her heavenly home on November 21, 2008 after an 11 1/2 month battle.

Good Morning and Happy Spring to Everyone!

I am writing to once again ask all of you that have religiously followed Ella's story and supported us over the last year and a half, to join us at the 




umbrELLA of Hope Family Fun Walk

Saturday May 16, 2009

Registration begins at 8:00 am and the walk begins at 9:00 am

The event includes a 2-mile walk in memory of Ella Hope and all the kids we have lost to this horrible tumor.  Following the walk, we will have activities including bounce houses, face painters, air brush tattoos (all for a small fee), live music from Nessa & Jewels, clowns and much more for the family to enjoy.  In addition to the activities, we will have awareness items and food and beverages for purhcase.

On November 21, 2008, the day Ella Hope earned her wings, our focus changed from fighting for Ella's life to fighting for a cure.  This walk will be a huge success with your help and continued support.  Please visit the event website at www.umbrELLAofHope.com to register today.  Registration deadline to ensure an event t-shirt, is Friday April 24, 2009.

When my girlfriends and I started planning this event, we all placed a little wager on how many registered walkers we thought we would get.  Mind you, John and I picked the lowest numbers!  So far, John is winning and I don't like it when John wins a bet.  Please help me fight for a cure and win this bet!

The event will be featured on Coffee with Kare (Channel 11) on Thursday May, 7, 2009 and also a Clear Channel Interview with Me - Sunday, April 26, 2009.  (at 6:30 on KFAN,K102, KDWB, KOOL 108 and KTLK and one half hour after sunrise or at 6:30 on KFXN and on Cities 97 at 5:30.)

I have also added an event flyer to the picture section, please feel free to print it and hang it at your work, church, doctors office or favorite spa!
