Well, the lemonade stand was a great success- we raised $295 for the HAA, to be doubled to nearly $600 by Sunkist. I'll just say its the most I've ever made off a lemonade stand! Ella's cousins were very valiant, squeezing a whole case of lemons, and braving the heat and (some) grumpy rejections. The great thing is, we met one woman whose mother has histio (complicated by diabetes insipidus) and has been suffering with in, basically untreated, for the last 20 years. We were able to get her some information and we all got goosebumps... you just don't meet a whole lot of people with Histio is all. Ella has 2 chemo appointments left, then scans and.... if all is well it is time to go off treatment. (We need a big collective knock on wood here). Today nurse Heidi did Ella the fabulous favor of taping off the methotrexate syringe so she couldn't see the yellow, and what do you know? It went down MUCH easier! Thanks for checking up on us! love laurel
