Eliot was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia on June 9, 2006. He received induction chemotherapy to put him in remission and then received a Stem-Cell transplant to hopefully permanently rid him of the disease. He was diagnosed, treated and given a transplant all within a span of about 5 months. He's home now and doing very well.

Eliot is now more than a year and a half out of transplant. He goes to the clinic once every 2-3 months for check ups. His next biopsy will not be until August this year (at 2 years out of transplant) his doctor told him that if that biopsy is normal, and his blood tests remain normal after, he may never need another biopsy again. They will only do a biopsy if his blood test show anything irregular. So he is looking forward to no more scheduled biopsies.
We are leaving on a vacation in one week and are very much looking forward to getting out of the cold. By the time we get back, things shoulld be getting warmer!
