Before I started this journal entry I was trying to come up with words that summed up this past week, and I realized there are no words to describe it.
First of all I would like to thank all of you for your support and words of encouragement, I was really just over whelmed with the response. I debated on whether to put Brians picture up, but after talking with Brian and his thoughts, well, he said "go for it". And I am glad I did. I also sent it out to everyone in my address book, something I never do. Well, I have to say almost everyone if not everyone (lost track) responded to my email, to not only wish Brian the best but to thank me for sending the picture, most were so thankful for the picture because they really don't know what to look for.
Now, there is more, one of the other guys who Brian works with was off sick last week and no one knew why, well, he returned on Monday, he has Lyme- thank god he found the bulls-eye on his stomach and got to the doctor and is on meds. But he was pretty sick.
Oh, it doesn't stop there. Paul's brother, Dave, who lives next to us, came to visit, OH MY..... he showed me his bulls-eye on his stomach- I was speechless..... he is now on meds too. He just stopped by tonight and said the doctor called him this morning and his lyme test came back positive (geez, I could have told him that!).
What are the chances of all this being sooo close to home.
Oh and Paul is not a happy camper either, I took a tick out of his head this morning, I am seriously considering just putting him on antibiotics, I cannot worry about one more person, just don't have it in me!!!!!
So, folks, please be AWARE at all times, do daily tick checks, look for ANY rash and do not dismiss anything, trust me.....it is worth the trip to the doctors!!!! Yes, I speak from experience!!!!!
Brian seems to be doing okay at this point. I will be keeping a close eye on him that is for sure!
And Dustin, well, he is having some good days that is for sure- I am hoping those good days keep coming, it is nice to see him smile and laugh that is for sure.
Wow- that is quite an update from the Eckerts!
