My Story

Douglas was diagnoised in June 2006 with neuroblastoma.  He was in remission from March 2007 till January 2008 when the cancer came back.  He fought a courageous battle.  Douglas lost that battle on August 31, 2008 and is now in heaven pain free and playing with his daddy.

Good evening to everyone.  It has been a little more than 7 months since we lost Douglas.  Life goes on...some days much more difficultly than others.  Since dealing directly with cancer I have become much more aware of the disease.  It affects so many people.  Relay for life is a cancer fundraiser that we have decided to be a part of this year.  My cousin, Crystal, got me started and now I am asking for help in fundraising to help find a cure for this nasty disease.  Relay for Life is about celebration, remembrance and hope.  By participating you honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to the lives we've lost and raise money to help fight the disease.

It is a walk that starts at 5 pm June 13 and ends at 6 am on June 14.  You form a team and have at least one member of your team on the track walking at all time.  The event we are signed up for will be held at Millard West.  We need team members and/or donations.  There is a link to the web site, at the end of this update, to do both.  The name of our team is Douglas' Steamies.  Think about it and visit the web site.  If you have any questions just ask.

Thanks--Vicki
