Hey Donna,
I'm back from the east coast.  Was there for about two months.  My brother Tom with the brain cancer was getting worse and I wanted to see him.  Got to be with his daughter just after she had a new baby.  Tom was glad to be able to hold her.

I about freaked out when I didn't see any more posts since August!  Anybody know what is going on with Donna?

Hello Stranger!!!  I hope things are going smoothly for you... I notice you haven't updated this venue since August and I hope that isn't BAD news!!!

I'm still scanning (although I'm the only OA I doing this right now)...

I do keep you in my prayers and would like to hear how you're doing!!

Love to you...

Hey Donna,

The sun is shining and I have a new(er) car and a funny story.  I was getting pretty tired of my clunker and we tried the cash for clunkers program and kept watching the paper and nothing was working.  Then one day at Costco I noticed a beautiful silver Passat from this century and it was clean and a good price.  It now sits in my driveway.  It even has heated seats.

One day I noticed something like a rubber end on the floor and leaned over to pick it up.  It was wet and disintergrated in my hand.  It was not rubber but fungal.  My car has mushrooms.  I pick them out when they sprout.  They are funnel shaped and light colored, not quite translucent.  I know they'll be back.  Here and there on the edges of the floor mats.  Sometimes between the seats where they are a bit difficult to dislodge without creating many pieces.

I thought you might appreciate a mushroom story.  I also found out last month that my prior mushroom partner from Fairbanks is alive and well at 90.

Hope you're enjoying the Seattle fall.

Hi DJ,
Just checking in.  I miss seeing your posts and knowing you're okay.  I hear you had a vist from Tex and I hope it was as enjoyable for you as it seemed to be for him.

Had a little minor excitement w/my hubby John a week & 1/2 ago when he was taken via ambulance to shock trauma after a good spill off his bike.  Ended up he only broke his other collar bone (maybe you remember he broke the one 2 years ago on the same bike).  I said now he has bookend broken collar bones to all his stuff in between :)!  I'm so thankful that's all the damage he did.

Anywho, just wanted to pop on and say I miss you!  Hoping no news is good news and you're off enjoying yourself somewhere.

Hugs, Jeri

Hi, dj!

It has been ages since I've said hello. I've been moving my family inland to Corvallis, OR.

We're living in an apartment - first time in a long, long time that I've experienced communal living. Quite an adjustment!

I've been so happy to read your updates.

Despite the frustrations, it seems that you are well on your path toward complete recovery!!

I think of you every day and wish you well!

Hi Donna-- I've been keeping up with the updates and it sounds like things are moving forward.  I talk of you often to people that know you and some that don't and what I think of when talking about you... is a fighter and survivor.  I want you to know my thoughts are with you daily and its nice to slow down for a moment and actually respond back versus just reading.  It seems to be back to rain here in Juneau for now--but hopefully we get one more run of sun.

Your friend,

Shane

Hi Donna,
We will be in Seattle in a week! I still think of it as the Garden of Eden. When we lived there we had an apple tree, a peach tree and a Bing cherry tree plus a vegetable garden with strawberries, tomatoes, lettuce and much more. I will phone you when we get an apportunity to visit. If you're up to it, we'll take you out for a lunch.
