Diane S. Marin

Died Jan. 5, 2013

 

SUTTONS BAY - Diane Sue Marin passed away peacefully at her home in Suttons Bay, MI surrounded by family early on Saturday, January 5th. She was 61.

 

Born to Arne and Marjorie (Roberts) Andelin on October 28th, 1951 in Ishpeming, MI, she went on to graduate from Ishpeming High School and enrolled at Northern Michigan University. After receiving a degree in education, she taught special education at Pewamo-Westphalia schools in Michigan until 1982.

 

She was married to Carl Peter Marin on November 5th, 1982 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming and subsequently moved to Pacific Palisades, CA, where she worked for William O’Neil & Co. and Investor’s Business Daily until the birth of her first son, Andrew Peter, in 1987. Her second son, Kristopher Evan, was born in 1989.

 

The family moved to Suttons Bay in 1994 where she focused on raising her two sons and resided for the next 18 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, devoted mother, wife, avid reader, and loved to travel, especially to visit her two sons. Most precious to her was time spent with her sons.

 

Preceded in death by her father, she is survived by her mother, husband Peter of 30 years, sons Andy and Kris, sister Jean Ann (Mike) Hosey and seven nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11 at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay.  The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Suttons Bay.  The Rev. Kent Lee will officiate.
