Strength for the weary!

Nicole called it a perfect birthday!  She spent some time with her girlfriends on a boat, and then T.J., Charlotte, Devon, and she had a clam boil, and some more birthday cake in her honor!  But that wasn't what really what  made the day "perfect" for her!  As you may have imagined, the best part had to do with Devon!  After they lit up the candles, they sang the birthday song, and Nicole said that Devon took a very active part in the singing!  She said he was grunting on key, and that he was really trying to say the words!  And as if that wasn't enough, Devo decided to lift his arm, not once but twice!  And it wasn't just a little movement, as he picked it off his lap, and put it back down!  The second time he lifted his arm and it fell down by his side!  Just in case you think his arm movements were a fluke, he did it again today for good measure!  Nicole's "perfect" birthday had nothing to do with materialism, and everything to do with spending time with her family and friends, and witnessing another couple of God's little blessings by the way of a very cooperative Devo!  Boy, it sure would have saved me lots of money over the years if she had grasped this notion a little sooner in her life!  Today was Peaches' last day, so they went to the beach, walked the pier, ate some chowda, and enjoyed the sunshine and the bikinis (at least Devon did)!  He must have been inspired because that's when he lifted his arm again!  AND...they were all actually home at seven p.m.!  They wouldn't admit it, but I'll bet they are all worn out from all the festivities of the last five days!

29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.  (Isaiah 40:29-31)

There isn't enough human strength in the world to keep these girls going!  Yet, some how they muster up more than enough energy to keep moving!  They'd have to be on intravenous Red Bull for the duration if they depended on worldly energy to fuel their busy schedules!  But they keep on keeping on by shear supernatural power, bolstered only by an occasional D&D!  That's Dunkin' Donuts for those of you not from New England!  They have cast all their hopes in The Lord, and because they do, He renews their strength every day!  Devo may not be physically soaring like an eagle just yet, nor running and not getting weary, but his attitude suggests otherwise! He is confident that Jesus will heal him, so I'd say that the supernatural power that he is getting as a result of his hopes, is strengthening his mind!  Psychologically, Devon is as strong as a bull!  As a result of his circumstances, Devo has become weak and probably a little weary!  But BECAUSE of his weakened body, Jesus will give him the strength and
power he will need!  It's His promise to us, and we can bet the house on it!  All it takes is faith and trust!  Goodnight, Dana
