Duval's here checking in.  We have not checked in for awhile, because we have stopped getting the daily posts.  Boy do I miss those.  I have re-signed up 3 times, so hopefully they will come through.  Still praying every single day for Devon and all of you.  Have a blessed Easter, we are thinking of you all.  Shari and Bob

Good morning journal family!

I spent the afternoon yesterday with Charlotte and Devon.  We had such a nice relaxing time!  We went and hung out at Brewed Awakenings, (a coffee shop) and then went to Garden City and walked outside and even peeked in a few upscale shops.  I have to tell you I started to giggle and told Dev, now I have a visual when Dad posts about Mom bringing you into all these stores.

Devon looks fantastic with his short haircut!!!  I told him he looks like one of the guys in GQ!  Either way, he is so very handsome!  (I'm with Charlotte and Nicole though, there are very few men that can pull off the longer hair and look good and Dev is one of them)!  I love his long blonde curls!

Love to all,
Brenda

Even though the news about the CNA is disappointing, everything happens for a reason and God determines all of those reasons which may be better circumstances than ever before. Although you already know that, Dana, I thought I would share that which you have taught me through this blog!

Happy blessed Easter week to you and all of your family.

Love,
Patti

Dana, where is the home page where Angie is posting? Thank you for the message tonight, so applicable to our daily lives. Faith carries us through the toughest times. One would think we didn't need reminding, but fortunately He gave us fellow believers to do just that, encourage one another. Bless you.

Dana, sorry, getting used to the new format.  I do not think my first post came through.  Anyway here goes again!  I know Tom and Mary Gilbane in Newport, they are our age, but have children Devo's age.  They have a house in Prov. Newport, and Palm Beach.  Ask Dev. if these are the people.  Their children are delightful.  Mrs. G

Every good gift and every perfect gift......comes from above! Wow, what a great message you shared with us tonight. In the midst of trials, it is sometimes hard to see the blessings, but the blessings are there of we are open and listening for the Lord in our lives. So tickled that Devon had a good day, what an inspiration he is. Hugs from the Barfield's.

Hi Dana,

When Jamey was in his first month of coma, they had to do surgery on his hip, and they didn't put in the filter, and Jamey threw a clot that ended up in his lung.  Fortunately, he was already on a ventilator, so they went back in and placed the filter like Devon's -- 23 years later, he still has it -- for which we are grateful, because we just had all the toes on his right foot amputated -- due to contracture of the big toe to where the bone wanted to break through causing a constant sore.  However, they never put him on Warfarin -- not sure if it even existed back then.  There is no question in my mind that he doesn't need the Warfarin at all.  I should think the filter would be sufficient.  Is Devo still being re-evaluated for Spalding Rehab?  There would be a good place to get good advice -- I believe it's okay to just stop it.

Dear Quigley Family,
Kit is a retired physician and has been on warfarin for a number of years for a-fib and other reasons.  We are wondering if the doctor sees the need for the increase due to Devon having an increased intake of Vit K.  Certainly asking the doctor to clarify the "why" of this change makes sense, as does a second opinion if you still don't really understand the "why".
It makes sense to have Devon on a blood thinner as he is not as active as he normally would be and a blood clot is not wanted at all!  But, you all need to understand why any doctor does anything (to Devon or to any of you).  We hope you will get the answers you need so you can truly make an informed decision.
In any case, our prayers are always with each of you and we ask God to Bless you every day.
