May 7, 2008 A Red Letter Day for Derek. Today Derek received his letter of permission from TTU to live off-campus with his brother. He had been accepted at TTU earlier, but Freshmen are required to live in the dorms. Mainly due to the fact that Derek hides how he is feeling, Dr. McClain agreed that he needed to be with his brother, Michael, who will watch over him and let us know how he is actually doing. Aside from hiding his pain, Derek's body requires him to eat often, particularly in the middle of the night. He needs regular sleep hours in a quiet atmosphere. This would be quite hard to monitor living in a dorm. Again, we are blessed.
