My Story

Thank you all for continuing to follow us on our journey to healing from the loss of our precious Alex.  He fought the good fight, kept the faith, finished the race, and is now enjoying his reward in Heaven!  We love and miss you little man!

As you know,  our 2 yr old son Alex was diagnosed with M7 AML, which is a rare form of leukemia and is very difficult to treat. He is a fighter, and we are trusting and believing Jesus for a complete healing! Alex was diagnosed Thursday, July 3, 2008 with M7 AML, which is a very rare form of leukemia. On Tuesday, July 8th, he began the 1st phase of chemotherapy. At this time, he has undergone 4 rounds of chemotherapy and one round of radiation. He received a bone marrow transplant from a matched, un-related donor on October 22, 2008. Unfortunately, the transplant failed to completely rid Alex's body of the leukemia. Currently, we are waiting for liver enzymes to regulate so that we may begin preparation for a second transplant, this time a stem-cell transplant from Alex's daddy. It is our prayer that this transplant will completely kill off the cancer and we will be able to take Alex home cancer free! Jesus has been so good to us, and we are still trusting in His healing power. This will be a very intense and aggressive treatment process due to the nature of the disease. However, we serve the Great Physician and we are praying and believing that He is going to completely heal Alex and that Alex will be able to share this as a great testimony to the power of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!! Please join us in lifting Alex up in prayer!

UPDATE:

As you all know, Alex was welcomed Home into the arms of Jesus on Friday, September 11, 2009.  He fought the good fight, kept the faith, and earned his reward!  Although he will be terribly missed by all who knew him, we rejoice in knowing we will be reunited with our Ultimate Fighter when we also get to Heaven.  The past 14 months have taught us so much....but the most important thing is to cherish every moment you are given with your family.  You never know when it will be your last!  God bless you all, and thank you so much for taking this journey with us.
