Day + 120 July 2, 2009

Sorry to take so long to post an update.  It's been a good week, overall.  Much the same-- clinic dates on Monday and Thursday (today). Good, steady counts every day.  Last Monday we had thought that we might need to start thinking about a red-cell booster (EPO, the same thing cyclists are busted for), but Delia's red cell count remains steady just above (8.5) the transfusion cut-off point.  White cells and ANC steady, and platelets actually up a good bit today.  A good meeting today with Dr. Wagner (and new BMT fellow, Dr. Wes Miller)--everything looking really good.  (Delia usually gets a bag of saline fluids in the clinic, which always feels over air conditioned, so Delia wraps up in warm blankets during the infusion, which explains the "shroud" she's wearing in these new photos.)

Dee and Amy found a spot on the Miss. River Road to do some stair-climbing and walking, and yesterday evening we went out for a little bike ride around a block or two (or three or four)-- That was good.  Another great workout today with Katie, Delia's PT.

Great to see Dylan and family in clinic-- the cowboy is pushing ahead, and we all hope for great days ahead. And a big surprise to meet up with the Wang-Liu family and little Amy Wang -- Amy was the big star at camp last summer, an adorable 7-month old then, now nearly 18 months old.  Tonite, dinner here with Brittany and Hunter-- a big 4th of July Weekend ahead, with the annual Lincoln Avenue Parade set to go off as planned on Saturday.  Happy 4th to all-- and thanks for stopping by.
