L. Seid, 59, One Special Lady


Debbie, a Pawleys Island resident,
died April 30 at Dana Farber/Brigham & Women’s Cancer Center in
Boston.  Debbie was born in Houston,
Texas on November 5, 1953 and attended West Springfield High School and Northern
Virginia Community College in Virginia.


Debbie met her husband of 37 years Rick
Seid, and they resided and raised their children in Virginia until moving to
Pawleys after Rick retired in 2002.


Debbie’s professional career in the
Washington D.C. metro area included Legal Administrative Management with Zuckert,
Scoutt and Rasenberger, Price Waterhouse and Ethyl Corporation.  In addition, Debbie was a top producer with
Long & Foster, Realtors.


Debbie also had a passion for retail
and while raising a family created Lady’s Loft, Ltd in 1989 located in
Occoquan, Virginia.  After moving to
Pawleys she co-created Barefoot Elegance in 2003, Lazy Fish in 2005 and more
recently began her own retail consulting business.


Debbie is survived by her husband,
Rick Seid of Pawleys Island; a daughter, Darin M. Seid of Palm Beach Gardens,
Florida; a son, Matthew R. Seid of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; her mother,
Darlene V. Howerton and sister, Karen Costner of Friendswood, Texas.


During Debbie’s courageous fight she
would often tell doctors and nurses “Tomorrow is another day”.  A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at
Belin Memorial United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet Saturday, June 1 at
2:00 p.m.
