Debbie Seid's Journal
Not Going Anywhere
Written Apr 19, 2013 9:00amWish I had slept at hospital last night so I could be with Deb. Was planning another day of Rehab hurting and back to hospital. Now stuck at house until Police allow folks to get back out on the streets. Just talk to Deb and she did have her radiation treatment and resting. Let's all pray that the second suspect is caught soon and there are no more folks hurt or killed.

It's hard to believe that days are running into weeks and months. I don't know how my Deb does it. After two IV chemos and two spinal chemos tomorrow is day 3 of 13 of radiation. Today we finally heard back on the last two MRIs. The shoulder one showed a rotator cuff tear and the one of the spine is normal. The pain continues to be treated with meds so she sleeps most of the day.
My road trip of Rehabs yesterday found one GREAT place only to be told today there is no room. Tomorrow is another day so I have a plan to visit some out-of-network places. Once we find a place we'll need to transport Deb back to the Brigham for radiation and back to Dana Farber for a biopsy and visits to her Docs.
As mentioned earlier, we need to get all in place for a transplant. This road is long and Deb (and I hate to say it, me too) is getting tired. We all need you to send more prayers our way for strength.
Next Steps! Again
Written Apr 16, 2013 8:40pmDeb was fitted for her radiation mask today and will have her first (of 13) treatments tomorrow at 8:30am. I had hoped to be there, but will be touring three new rehab places in the Boston area so we get her to a place to get her reconditioned. The plan is to move Deb sometime this week to rehab with her returning each day to "The Brigham" for radiation. Since she is so de-conditioned we will require transport each day back and forth for radiation treatments. In addition, the plan is to get her back to Dana Farber in the next week for a bone marrow biopsy. There are many things that must fall into place and have good results in order for Dana Farber to proceed with the transplant. Please continue to pray that everything falls into place. It's been a long road (so far 3 months), if all works out with radiation and bone marrow biopsy results we may be near the half way point. Deb said she wants to be sure she tried all options available to ensure remission and a future. We're on our way back to good health and back home to Pawleys. Keep sending us prayers here in Boston. When you say a prayer tonight for Deb, please include the folks here in Boston.
