Happy Wednesday!

The Rau clan is back from our extravaganza vacation. We had a great time both at Walt Disney World and on the cruise. We were able to get out and do some fun things and relax and sit in the sun. We spent last Friday in Atlanta with Peter's aunt and uncle, one of his cousins, and his family. Altogether we took a tour of the World of Coke...the birthplace of the first Coca Cola. Very fasinating and fun. They had 64 different flavors of pop for people to sample that they sell throughout the world. Some of them were just disgusting. My taste buds couldn't handle very many flavors, but the boys tried them all. I was never so happy to drink some regular Coke! After Peter's relatives left for home, we went and toured the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Park. It includes his birth home, the church he preached at, his tomb, and a visitor center with lots of interesting information. Since the boys had studied him in school, they really got into all of the things to look at and read about. Saturday morning we left to start our journey home, staying in Indianapolis that night, and drove the rest of the way home Sunday. Arriving home around 7:00, it was the earliest we had ever arrived home from a vacation. It was agreed that this was a vacation to do again...especially the cruise! Thanks Ted and Mary for giving us such a wonderful gift! It was well worth the year wait, and we can't wait to plan our next one.

I had two doctor appointments on Monday - nothing like getting right back into the swing of things, huh? First I had my "every 3 months" blood draws. The results came back today - all are negative. No sign of any cancer!! I also met with a Rheumatologist to try and figure out the pain I am feeling. While talking to me, the doctor went through 4-5 different kind of ailments I could have, and then changed her mind as she examined me. The end conclusion? She doesn't know what is wrong. To get more information, she drew some blood to run some more tests and sent me to have some x-rays done of my back and knees. I haven't heard anything from her, yet. I probably won't until next week.

Speaking of next week, the dreaded day is approaching. I've decided that sitting around my house these days isn't making me feel any better really, so I am going back to work on Monday. I'm very nervous because there are days I still take a nap in the afternoon because I am so tired. I'm worried about being on my feet standing and sitting for long periods of time - I get so sore! I met with my supervisor on Monday and discussed some things and got an official "restrictions" form filled out today by my oncologist. My supervisor and I have come to an agreement for the days that I am really tired towards the end of the day. I've decided that this is how life is going to be right now and I just need to suck it up and go back to work. I already warned Peter that I probably will come home from work and go straight to bed - at least for awhile.

I put some new pictures from our trip on the photos page. Check them out!!
