David Janower's Journal
Written Aug 25, 2013 5:16pmDear family and friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I write to all of you to inform of David's passing. He passed around 4:15pm today. While we are of course grieving for our loss, we are happy that he is no longer in pain. We are working on getting all of the information for services, and we will let everyone know as soon as there is information. Thank you for all of your love and support.

Written Aug 10, 2013 8:06amDear Friends,
I know that it has been a terribly long time since our last update but in a strange way, there was not much to report. The days have passed without any major changes but rather a slow decline. David continues to weaken and has reached the point in his illness that he is sleeping most of the time. While no one knows for sure, Hospice has told us David will not be with us much longer.
It is comforting to all of us to know how many of you continue to keep us in your thoughts, wishes and prayers. Keep sending the Maestro your most peaceful thoughts.
Written Jun 2, 2013 12:37pmDear Friends,It is with a heavy heart that we send this update on David's condition. Though he has made good progress with all of his therapy, it seems that he has plateaued and will not be making further strides in recovery from the stroke. Despite this, David remains comfortable and is generally in good spirits.Sadder still, we must let you know that recent tests show that the cancer that began in David's femur has spread to his lungs. Also, he remains ineligible for any sort of caner treatment. Thankfully, David shows no signs of distress with this development, and we hope to keep him comfortable and happy as long as possible. In light of this news, and based on advice from several of the professionals involved in his care, we have enlisted Hospice. Though we still have a few months with David, we were advised to sign up for Hospice now. As many of you may know, Hospice provides as much support for the family as it does for the patient, and we have decided to take advantage of the many services they provide earlier rather than later. It is our hope that they will guide and support us through this process and help lighten our load. Please keep David in your thoughts as he begins this part of his journey, and know that we are extremely grateful for the outpouring of love and support you have shown him.Paige, Katy and MIchael
