Dave, you don't know me but I met you in a hot tub at the BAC several weeks ago. Another man in the tub questioned you about your health. Your brief testimony rang with perseverance and I believe it made an impact on those who heard it. Especially me. I needed to hear your words because I'm recovering from prostate cancer. I shared the hot tub story in our small group at church and a member recognized you. It's a small world. I pray God's blessing on you and Marissa.

We are honored to be in the Family of your prayer warriors...after all, that is what family does!   We are all blessed to see God's hand in this past year of deep valleys, long ravines, and mountains to climb...with Him right by your (our) side.  Thank you for sharing His glory story through you and sharing with the world HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!!!  We love you and continue to pray, pray, and pray some more!  xoxo

Dave and Mar,
I will never forget the phone call from your dad that morning. Being a nurse, and having worked with many TBI's, I knew you guys were in for an extremely difficult journey. What I didn't know was how strong, faithful, and inspirational you both would be.  What you have given me that helps me with my own difficult journey is immeasurable. I love you guys. Praying. Au

Well said Marissa. Loved the line of being refined by fire. We have the same journey but different circumstances. We take nothing for granted and praise God for the smallest of blessings. God is using your experience to be a testing of His peace and calm in the midst of a storm. Continue to lean on Him the great physician for all your needs. You are an inspiration to us.

Dave and Marissa,

Praising God with you today!!  Also wanted to share a quick story with you both.  On this morning a year ago, Grandma Farris was being seen in the Bronson ER when Dave was brought in.  She said she didn't know who the young man was who had arrived after her, but had the distinct feeling that she was to pray for him.  Grandma Farris found out later that day that her grandson Kyle is a close friend with Dave.  Just wanted you to know that the Lord had a prayer warrior WAITING in the ER that day and she had been praying for Dave, Marissa and their families each day since then :)

Have been enjoying the devotional book by Sarah Young...Jesus Calling.  Here is what she wrote for today, February 19th:

You are feeling weighed down by a plethora of problems, both big and small. They seem to require more and more of your attention, but you must not give in to those demands.  When the difficulties in your life feel as if they're closing in on you, break free by spending quality time with Me.  You need to remember who I AM in all My Power and Glory.  Then, humbly bring Me your prayers and petitions.  Your problems will pale when you view them in the Light of My Presence.  You can learn to be joyful in Me, your Savior, even in the midst of adverse circumstances.  Rely on Me, your Strength; I make your feet like the feet of a deer, enabling you to go on the heights.

God said to Moses, "I Am Who I Am.  This is what you are to say to the Israelites: " I Am has sent me to you."  Exodus 3:14

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.  The Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, He enables me to go on the heights.  Habakkuk 3:17-19

Hallelujah Lord!! What a testament to HIS love and faithfulness! A year goes by so slowly, and yet so quickly! Dave and Marissa, you have had to learn many new things over this past year ... and learn you have! So many people are watching from the sidelines as you journey on .... TOGETHER!! May God continue to bless you and keep you as prayers continue to hold you up!

What a testimony again of how God turns puzzling providences into great blessing.  Praising God with you. Bronson ER is where I started my hospital nursing career in 1970 :).  It has changed a lot since then, but it is still a place where you meet a lot of unexpecteds and live altering events.  You are now a better equipped ambassador for Christ there.  Looking forward to future updates

Marissa, you and Dave have been such an inspiration and reminder of God's Love to me.  I find it amazing that I don't even know you but yet through my daughter Senika, you have become a part of my life and my prayer life.  I admire you both very much.  I know you are not seeking this and that makes all the more a testament to our Lord.  I know that you have made such a difference in Senika's life.  Please know that we care and think ( pray) of you often.

Thank you so much for the update on Dave and for you both...continuing daily to pray, pray, and pray some more...learned a new song that is HUGE for me in every way and I don't know the name...but it talks about being overwhelmed by God's Presence  (I'll find out and let you know; it is not Daddy Weave).  It reminds me of how I am (but am not suppose to be) overwhelmed by stuff daily and how I so want to be overwhelmed by JESUS and His Presence...praying that for you all...with lots of love...Susie O
