This is a great idea about the scholarship.  A wonderful way to help students and keep Dan's name alive.
I dreamed of Dan night before last.  At the end I turned to wave goodbyeto you, Melissa.  Dan and the kids were standing with you.  He wasperfectly well.  I guess I'm still trying to make sense of all this.I know he is okay though.  The funeral was magnificent.  All the tributes were wonderful and I think Clyde Ruffin just outdid himself on the sermon.
Much love,,Marsha Miller

Sending my most sincere condolences to your family.  Dan was an inspiration to all who knew him.  A compassionate soul full of humor and wisdom.  I will miss his presence on this earth.
Just the other day I thought about 'Shatner Hour' in the theater tech shop and our talks about love, family, and freedom.  Dan's love and respect for your family is inspirational and a guiding light.  He is greatly missed and will always be remembered.

Hey Dan, I am going to miss you very much. I alway found our conversations and encounters to be wonderful and illuminating. I will miss you being on the planet. You are one of the good people that keep the world spinning in perfect harmony. I am sad and glad for you. You are an example of a strong man in my life. I hope to see you again in this life or the next, I am sure our paths will cross.

How I loved working with Dan in the Chameleon Puppet Theatre.
His great talent for design and his indomitable spirit always lifted our productions  to a higher level. But more than his work, I have long believed that Dan is an angel come to earth to teach us all gentleness and humility and love love love. Dan lived well and was a Fine Human Being in this incarnation. We are all blessed to have been in his circle of friends and family.  Goddess Speed and Fare thee well, Dan, on to your journey home.  Nancy and Nick Spaeder

Melissa, Kate, Emily, Paul and all family members,

My heart goes out to each one of you.  There really are no words to say at a time of great pain and sorrow.  Just know that I'm holding you tight and all of you are in my prayers.

Like so many my memories are from our wonderful time spent at SMSU in the early to mid 80's.  You and Dan are in many of those.  Like very few others Dan was magic.  I loved working with him on the shows.  My sides would hurt from laughter.  I bright shining star who is watching over us all.

Melissa and family,

I'm so very very sorry to read of Dan's passing.  It was clear that he traveled the road of treatment over the last couple of years with strength, determination, and the love of a family he cherished.  While it's been many, many years since working with Dan, I still have memories of him chuckling as I wielded a hammer, banging away on a set piece, doing more damage than good.  His laughter, humor and patience made scene construction during those hot Tent summers bearable.  My thoughts and prayers will be with you as you face the days ahead.

Dear Melissa and family,

We are so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. You are in our thoughts and prayers, and we grieve along with you.

Tina told me on a walk last night and my first thought was "What a wonderful guy." What a heart. Our lives are so much richer for having known him. He's the kind of guy you hope your kids turn out to be like. An extraordinary man.

Our prayers are with you. Much love from all of us to all of you.

Melissa and family,Words can not express how much my heart is breaking for you and all of Danny's loved ones.  There will never be anyone like Danny to touch our hearts as he did.  His smile is just one of my favorite memories of him, in a room of crowded people his smile set him apart from everyone.
He will be so missed, I am so sorry

Dear Melissa,Kate, Emily and Paul,

My deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved friend, husband and father Dan. I really don't know what to say. He went too soon.

I remember him as a loving and wonderful human being with a dry sense of humour and a ready laugh. Dan and Melissa made quite a pair.

Though far away I will keep him and Melissa and all of you in my prayers.

love
